I'm traveling to Malaysia at the end of the week for work. I'll be attending an online media conference and touring several development projects in the region. About Me

I am a freelance writer and development educator. My work experience includes politics, journalism, overseas development and non-profit management.

At present, I am looking for more freelance opportunities. My dream full-time position would be in communications with an organization that I believe passionately in.

I love to travel, keep fit and cook with my wonderful siblings.

Irish Aid
Development Educator
September 2009 to June 2010
I was responsible for the design and delivery of development education programs to children and teenagers. I facilitated workshops among up to 80 kids a day on the theme of "Hunger' using a combination of multimedia exhibits, educational games and food displays. I advised members of the public on responsible, sustainable overseas volunteering opportunities and answered questions on Irish Aid and the development sector in Ireland. I assisted in the advertising and management of Irish Aid events.

I was responsible for the management of a summer internship program for 40 Irish and South African interns. This included the logistical planning of events such as the Celtic Cup Golf Fundraiser, a Congressional Forum on Capitol Hill and a reception at the Irish Embassy. I expanded the Program’s membership through press outreach and personal networking. I mentored the interns in their professional development, speech writing and public service.
