Emily Moore I'm a college student living on a small income. I'm always looking for new and quick recipes to fit my budget.

TOP IDEA: Ciara Have you ever noticed how a companies' incentives don't really do much for you? If you sign somebody up for something you get put in a drawing to recieve a prize...? Wait. I think, if you do something and there's an incentive you should get the incentive, not the CHANCE to get the incentive. I discuss this in my post about Bribing Kids for School... a new hot topic going around. http://rummaged-and-ransacked.blogspot.com/2010/06/bribing-kids-for-scho... We are all ruled by incentives.

This is mainly due to two years of graduate school. but I am really, really horrible when it comes to mysteries as I figure it out before the ending and I am ways upset at this (same with movies... I didn't see Shutter Island because I figured it out just from the preview...) But I always find myself back into more Non-fiction works, like "A People's History of the World", who actually site their sources (again, grad school issue...) and short story collections that are Humorous. I re-read all of David Sedaris' and Augusten Burroughs' books a few weeks ago and woke up my partner several times late at night from laughing. I like both, but I am more inclined to nonfiction history/explanation type books or short stories with a touch of humor in them.

Rebecca Thorman I'm incredibly stressed. It's not that I have too much to do, but that one item on my to-do list is causing me particular stress and it's mostly out of my control. How do you handle things that you can't help or influence and make sure it doesn't affect the rest of your work? I'm having a hard time concentrating and think I will continue to until this item is resolved.

I think there's every reason to have women's networks; the problems arise when the networks only focus on the bad... like whining about how we get less pay. A groups is good when it brings women together to focus on our strengths and learn from each other as only women can. Being part of a woman's network does not make you a victim. It brings you in contact with other awesome women who you can learn from. Let's not let the whiners ruin our groups!

Rebecca Thorman I just read in the WSJ that there's a trend for women to start having kids early again. As someone very much focused on my career, this makes my stomach turn a little, but I'm happy for the many people I know having babies right now. Do you see any signs of this trend among people you know? Are you or others having children earlier rather than holding off for more financial security?

TOP IDEA: Ciara this is not a top idea or anything, I was just wondering if anyone else had ever had people in their lives come onto their blogs and post negative and degrading comments about them? I have someone posting nasty comments and my blog and it's forced me to make my comments be reviewed first. This is the second time something like this has happened to me. I'm getting tired of it frankly. The best part, is I live with one of them. Any suggestions? I'd love to make my blog unviewable by them but can't

I had a really bad room-mate experience in college and I was told by my cousin to document every incident between my room-mate and me in detail. Those notes came in handy later when I filed complaints against her with the dorm authorities. For an apartment lease why don't you try to discuss breaking out of the lease with the apartment owners? You might have to pay some penalty, but your safety and reputation is really worth a lot more than the penalty to break a lease. If you can talk to a lawyer, do so and let your room-mates know that you are consulting with them. Intimidating using legal channels really works in many cases. Good luck!

I believe that they googled me and that's how they found me. Maybe from my linked-in account. Hey, at least I'm find-able :) (I have fixed it so no one can comment without my approval).

Tania, I have been documenting everything. I even wrote a letter and turned it into the apt. office. They can't do anything for me, but at least it's on file if something worse happens. My lease is up in October, so I'm just gonna wait it out. As of today (5/24) they are pretty much leaving me alone.... although I have a new issue with one of the girls who can't manage to pay rent on time.

I'm definately got some good material for later posts :)

Rebecca Thorman We are a canceling culture (http://bit.ly/dy1yLC). I'm certainly guilty of it. As the author of that post says, sometimes canceling feels like you got time back. But if the point is to spend time with another person, why does it feel satisfying to cancel? Rescheduling is the new black. But what do you think, is it okay to cancel - yay or nay?

Sometimes I make plans and then on that day I'm just too worn out or don't feel like getting together. So I cancel and I feel like a weight has been lifted & I can relax.

I agree with Marie. If we adjust our schedules to where we're not so overloaded then keeping the appointment isn't so difficult. We don't feel so worn out. It's not just about keeping the appointment, it's about committing when you REALLY CAN commit! and not just saying that you will.

Alyson Kilday Looking to set up our "Home & Business Base" overseas. We are setting up our ad agency to be location independent. The next question is where to be based in! We are considering Colombia or Arg as an option. Our requirements are: affordable, relatively safe, rich culture, visually inspiring (either natural or great architecture), and it needs to be near or in a city to help grow our business. Where would you say we set up shop and home? What would you look for? Where would you go and why?
