I'm a fairly recent college graduate with a bachelors of science degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. My goal was to attend graduate school for Forensic Psychology and work in the legal system or work as some kind of advocate.
Currently I am working in 2 basic entry level positions as a mental health counselor and I do supervised visits for social workers trying to meet their visitation quota but don't have the time to do it themselves :) Isn't the foster care system great.
My life and my immediate future involves a lot of traveling, or shall we just say moving. In 2 years I've moved 3 times and I'm about to move again... back home, with my mommy. Aren't I a big girl. So...
My next goal will be finding a new job after I move (preferably something a little more than entry level where I can make at least $20,000 instead of $12,000) per year. And something with benefits. It's a shame that I have to move because Humanim is a great company to work for, but the Baltimore/DC area is just too expensive to live on the pay I get, even with 2 jobs. I work 7 days a week with a sunday off every now and then.
Within the year I want to start working on a website for profit. I'm still working on the topic but hoping that I can learn calligraphy and build onto that somehow.
I may also be moving to Guatemala at some point. Maybe not a completely permanent move, but I will most likely be spending a lot of time there due to the fact that my other half will be returning there soon. So I want to have a website because I can do that from anywhere. My long long term goal is to possibly build a second website and make that my full time career with various part time jobs (possibly in the psych field) to fill in the gaps. I can't see myself being able to build a good psych career here in the US when I am in Guatemala for such long periods of time.
I'm hoping that within the year my "summary" will be a little less pathetic and that my blog will turn into something worth reading.
So that's my summary. For now.
Conducting supervised visits for children and families in the foster care system.
Monitoring medication and assisting in helping client's achieve their life and rehabilitation goals.
Assuring that the checklanes run smoothly. Assuring that cashiers and guest service employees take their regular breaks and return on time. Acting as a manager to guests with issues at the lanes or at guest service.
