People like to point and laugh at "stupid people". We're not allowed to do it in the "real world", so we turn to TV to provide a source of stupid people to laugh at.

I've always been taught two things: one, that if I work hard enough at anything and become an expert in it, I can make it into my job, and two, all the work in school and at actual work is to help you get to the job or position that you want. So for instance, someone wants to write, so he/she can become an author, a blogger, a journalist, an editor, whichever job is the most appealing. Becoming the best in any of these fields can still become his/her "work," but it's also enjoyable.

Of course, you have to be realistic. There will be facets about your work (like the comedian example Marisa brought up) that you won't want to do for whatever reason: it's boring, it's tedious, etc. Well, suck it up! Life, and work, isn't going to be entertaining 24/7, and everyone should recognize that.

That being said, you have to enjoy SOME part of your job or you're in the wrong field or position.

Ryan Paugh I've always been fascinated by all of the ways we can use Social Media in the classroom. Awhile back (probably 2-3 years now) I had a conversation with a High School teacher about integrating Social Media into their curriculum. I told her that starting a classroom blog might be a cool idea. She had a lot of reservations because School Boards were throwing red tape all over internet use in schools. Are school teachers still facing this much push back? Has any progress been made?

It is a shame that schools even have to be shown the benefits of Social Media - especially, since Social Media fits into the philosophy and practices of John Dewey.

Sharalyn Hartwell I just discovered something yesterday and I'm pumped about it. Women's Health magazine has a ton of free workouts you can download to your iPod. I think this is genius. I already bring my iPod to the gym, I don't want to bring paper with exercises jotted down and I definitely don't want to have to think of what to do next. I tried one of them on Saturday and my lower body is still in shock. Anyone else had success doing something like to shake up their gym routine?

Vickie Elmer Greetings all, I'm developing a series of job search tips for teens, as an offshoot of my business, which hires a handful of teens in the summer and supports youth and educational charities. (It's called Mity Nice, and we sell Italian ice and other vegan "sweet treats from the streets.") What's the best piece of advice you'd give a 16- or 17-year-old who wants a summer job in a company? And what's the biggest mistake a teen can make in seeking a job? Would love to hear your best suggestions.

Ryan Paugh Are you making some time during the 4th of July weekend to relax? Catch up with family and friends? Not work? The 4th is always that time during the summer when I realize that I've been moving too fast and I need to slow down. Go outside and enjoy yourself this weekend. Hang out with the people that are important to you. The work will still be there next week. Happy 4th of July!

Christina Another Wonderful Tip RT@Mity Nice Teen tip 29. How you perform the first two weeks will determine what they think of you for your entire time there. It also may influence how many hours you get - hard workers quick learners get more. So show up early. Use slow time to clean up the joint. Find someone to show you shortcuts and mentor you. And ask your boss: What else could I help with today?

Christina Hi all This is a posting for an unpaid internship that one of our worksite supervisors asked me to send around. It is just for a summer position but if their budget increases over the summer it could potentially turn into a more permanent gig. It's at a law firm in Troy, MI that deals with real estate mostly.. Let me know if you would like further information Thanks, Christina
