I'm Cheryl Allin and I'm a pioneer in the Virtual Assistant industry. I started VirtuAllin full time in 2001 after several years in the dot com (or dot bomb) world. I knew I wanted to be able to work from home so I could spend time with my children. At the time, I had just had a baby - my son, Falken - and I didn't want to miss any more of those special moments.
At the beginning of 2001, I was wife and mother to three terrific kids; Terryn was 11, Madison was 3 and Falken was just a few months old. I was also step-Mom to my husbands oldest, Alex. My husband, Vance helped me put together my first website, I joined Staffcentrix and the IVAA and landed my first client that first month.
I decided on the name "VirtuAllin" after many months of brainstorming. I wanted something personal that easily conveyed that clients would be getting me - only, virtually! Thus, taking my last name 'Allin' and pairing with the word Virtual - I came up with "VirtuAllin." It's pronounced virtue - allen (or alan). In hindsight, it might not have been the best way to go but I've grown to love it.
Over the last nine years, I've specialized in internet marketing (website design, graphic design, search engine optimization) for real estate agents, coaches and small businesses all over the world. The VirtuAllin.com website is by far my most popular, but I also own several other websites such as VA4RE, Search4VAs, Real Estate Drip Email Campaigns and several others. In my blog here at VirtuAllin, I cover anything and everything about deciding on a career as a Virtual Assistant. I've been there, done that and brought home the T-shirt and I'll share all of my experience with you.
