About Me

I’m an indefatigable entrepreneur/coach with the mind of a Bell Labs engineer and a heart that yearns to see individuals use all talents to realize their potential. Through razor-sharp insight, I help individuals and groups see their storyline--making sense of the pieces--for the sake of getting to the next place. If you don't know your story, you can't write the next chapter.

Having spent over 15 years as an engineer in the nuclear power and telecom industries, I found my calling when I transitioned into work that focused on the human side of business—career development, retention, team building, change management. I swapped working with technical systems for working with human systems. Being competent was no longer enough. I wanted meaning.

Story became the portal for finding meaning--and wisdom--everywhere. Starting with facilitating "corporate campfires" where executives told stories about their careers to today, where I coach professionals to live a better story, I see how meaning and stories are intertwined.

We each have the opportunity to live a better story. For me, that chance came when I became an entrepreneur in 2003, after a layoff. I became a career coach. Helping clients uncover their story was thrilling. Even more exciting was when I could help them *build* upon their story, to leave a legacy. That led to my second company, A Bigger Voice.

Today, my work with story is not only deeper, but broader. Through my third company, My Alumni Link, I'm able to touch thousands of people with the magic of story.
