What do you think is the greatest thing about being a Gen Xer? For me, it's my cynicism. It has made me a realist.

I think Gen Y and the Millennials are known for their attitude of entitlement. I keep feeling the need to explain workplace ettiquete and common courtesy to some our young workers. On a positive note, they do all get along very well, and want to be friends with everyone they work with, which is a pleasant change from the usual workplace back-stabbing. 85 weeks ago

Xers in my view tend to see themselves (ourselves) as "on my own," oppose the concept of authority, and tend to have a few trusted friends/family who have really got their back. Whereas Yers are more laid back, tend to have a lot more friends, and also prefer more direction. Millennials to me are like Yers on technology steroids. And Gen Yers and Boomers tend to get along very well at work. (I like Bruce Tulgan's books on the generations at work, they are very insightful and useful.) 85 weeks ago

Depends on what your passion is. Many organizations like a person having a passion towards their area of expertise: kids, mental health etc 128 weeks ago
Sarah Hartley:
I think it depends if you know what you want! If not, diversify. If you do, then work your way up in 1 organisation 127 weeks ago

When you combine a few beer drinking hockey buddies and a charitable cause the bureaurocracy and politics are minimal.
