Jason H. Parker Hey, use the "Brazen Community Feedback" group to let us know your thoughts. Be honest--what do you like, what don't you like, what else could we do? Help us help you build your network by providing great feedback in this group.

However the thought just occurred to me that even more people would join and use this group if it were highlighted on the menu bar or as a button (e.g. - next to the search box in the upper right hand corner of the page) - more visibility.

It can also detract from your message. So, if you want to maintain some level of credibility, due diligence or at least a spell check should be part of any post. That said, of course I'd have to plead guilty of posting my share of typos.
I have great respect for consistent bloggers though, especially those who, like Caitlin, aren't afraid to put a bit of their soul into it.

Bruce, I think you're right, just based on my own experiences. Surface mistakes such as typos and careless wording are distracting.

What I most like about the post is the idea that a concept doesn't have to be perfected before it's introduced to the world. The point-of-view doesn't have to air tight. In the case of a tool or application, it can be shipped with the understanding that the people who use it will be contributing to its improvement. I think people are getting more used to providing feedback, and that it's when companies make it difficult to provide the feedback, or when they are unresponsive to it, that the company runs into trouble. What do you think?

Sara I've been a freelance writer for a few years now, mostly doing features for print and web publications. As most of you know, those pubs are quickly closing up shop, so I'm trying to branch out into copywriting. My question is--what's the best way to land clients? I've done a "soft" push through some of my social networking circles and with small business owners I know, but no luck thus far. I'm not even ready to go full-time yet--just want to get this off the ground. Any advice?

I'm just getting started as a freelance copywriter too and have been fortunate to connect with a great mentor as well as a local freelance org, which offers great opportunities for referrals from other independent professionals. Your city's small biz organization and/or chamber of commerce may be great places to start building relationships too. I'd love to hear about anything you try and will be sure to let you know about any brilliant ideas I have too. Good luck!

Penelope Trunk Warning: This group is becoming Penelope unedited. This is what I'd sound like without an editor. Because my editor is already overwhelmed with my blog and my tweets. Okay. So, Is this a career topic? I just met with the farmer. I tried to convince him to stay with me. I know TOTALLY LAME. I know. But i couldn't stop myself. And he told me that he knows I'll be fine. He said I should just buy a farm. But I think I want to be a housewife. I don't want to buy a farm. I want to marry a farm. Crap.

@Bennett - Also I have to highly disagree with "Plus, if you truly think about it, VERY FEW people who work actually contribute anything of REAL value to SOCIETY. Most actually produce negative effects..."

There may be some, even many, who produce negative effects, but I think the vast majority of the workforce is doing SOMETHING productive and ultimately beneficial to/valued by someone. The economy wouldn't run otherwise.
