I went to my first ever Super Bowl party on Sunday! The game was confusing and the much-hyped commercials were dull, but the food and company was great!

Hi Penelope: Thank you for your response in regards to my request about the recording of the webinar on Wed. 1/13/10.
Of course, I heard him so I know most of the attendees heard him as well but we are only human - not perfect. His response was inappropriate for the setting. However, It only showed how laid back you and your colleagues are with each other even when others are around. It's alright! God Bless.

My husband recently got into an Executive MBA program and wants to thank the people who wrote recommendations for him (which were part of his application). These people were / are bosses and significant colleagues. Since this is an executive program, he will continue to work with these people for a long time. I know a handwritten note is a must. We also wanted to add a gift card. Any suggestions on the amt for the gift card? What's the best etiquette for showing thanks in this case?
Monica Carol Evans:
I agree with the other commenters. The gift card ideas sounds like bribery. Not a good idea. 123 weeks ago

Hello all. I'm gonna end all your misery about getting paid jobs in journalism. I'm not an expert, I was in journalism school for a semester and dropped out. No one I was in school with is in journalism today and that was ten years ago. Everyone I know who is in paid journalism, high paid journalism of various forms never spent a day in journalism school. The one thing they had, the one thing that counted was inside information. They had information about something that no one else had.

It seems like there's lots of journos out there, but the field is changing. I consider myself more of an "information disseminator" than a traditional reporter. I'm curious, are any of you journos out there considering broadening your field into other areas of information like marketing and PR?

I always stumble and tweet my stories (and sometimes Facebook them) and I have a website. I guess I didn't consider it branching into marketing and PR when I am doing it for myself, rather than a client! No one is paying me for it, it's just an investment in my future and personal brand. 127 weeks ago

As an MBA student, I'm finding it hard to cope with the level of information coming at me, both in my course and all the reading I normally do outside it. Any ideas on how to successfully manage this, or channel it successfully (maybe through my blog)?

How did you get your foot in the paid door? I don't know how many other people are experiencing the kind of problems I am--just graduated and no one wants to hire or even talk to me, plus none of my classes ever talked about HOW to get a job--but I would love to know how you got started.
