Brian Jensen Hey everyone, I'm just about to open a boutique craft beer shop and tasting room and wanted to know if anyone had recommendations for a POS system. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Amanda Veinott: Hey Brian, that sounds like an awesome business! Where is it located? When I was in the restaurant industry, I used Oasis and really liked it.

Brian Jensen I just finished reading this (http://bit.ly/bFq2uT) article in the Financial Times about a retired Nasa astronaut now working at Google. The article describes how Ed Lu joined with no clear job description and goes on to exhibit how "people with cross-disciplinary skills can prove invaluable. Though they don't fit into any particular role, they can enrich the company culture, and uncover new business opportunities." An encouraging read for those of us with unconventional backgrounds!

Ryan Healy What are everyone's thoughts on Bloom Energy? They've been getting some serious press with 60 Minutes and now the whole world writing about them. John Doerr says that its like the Google IPO http://tcrn.ch/9KtiuO. I'm looking at locations in Orange County and San Diego at the moment. Originally I was looking into starting a straightforward co-working space but making it profitable seemed difficult. It's like... the total opposite of what will save newspapers. It's full of e-zines rather than e-books: gloss, images, fancy layouts and graphics, hype and razzle dazzle.

I think you're on to something. A text format on something like a Kindle would be like RSS on a portable reader. I'd want to sell future e-books like that. Market my blog. Publish. Convenience is something people will pay for.

I believe it was MCD that had a difficult time entering China as they did not develop it prior to launching. Having Gaunxi was so important to the people that as a culture they had no interest in a business without it. This speaks volumes to the amount of effort and foresight that needs to go into relationship and trust building as early in the process as possible. Define yourself with these principles and Gaunxi will follow. :) Great topic to bring up!
