I am a computer engineer and Microsoft Certified Partner who desires a software development position in a cutting-edge company where I can create exciting and innovative applications that delight our users.
I am fluent in native compiled programming languages such as C and C++, managed languages such as C# and Java, and scripted languages including JavaScript, Lua, and PHP. I have experience using the Microsoft Visual Studio, GNU GCC, and Eclipse development environments. I also have intimate knowledge of the .NET Framework CLR at the runtime instruction (MSIL) level. I'm proficient in the use of databases and data frameworks with extensive SQL and XML experience, including web services based on SOAP and REST, and I have experience in AJAX interaction. I also have had significant exposure to Agile development methodology and Test-Driven Development techniques.
As an engineer at PreEmptive Solutions, I exceed expectations by turning open-ended requirements into robust back-end code modules. I've taken initiative by designing, implementing, and testing original technical features and user interface designs for an established software product. Support experience instilled within me a strong focus on customer service and the ability to see problems from all angles to produce novel solutions.
I have acted as lead developer for several open-source and non-profit projects including projects for the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Michigan Industrial Hygiene Society, and Cycle for Sudan.
Maintained and enhanced a popular software product (6+ million desktops) written in C# and C++. Transformed the product from a single-use application into a platform for post-build code injection. Drove product adoption by revamping the user interface and exposing new functionality to the user.
Designed and implemented SOAP web service to interface with Active Directory on ASP.NET. Constructed numerous UI mockups for the product based on provided marketing analyses. Mapped federated Active Directory schemas and documented an existing codebase using Microsoft Visio.
Provided personal and administrative technical support to forty faculty and staff within three departments.
Participated in Association for Computing Machinery (Chapter Webmaster, 2005), Undergraduate Student Government (IT Committee Member, 2006), and Student Internet Services (Lead Developer, 2007).
