Jason H. Parker Hi all, looking forward to being an active member of this network. I am relocating to DC in a few weeks and will be pursuing meaningful work in the nonprofit sector. I will be searching for positions, but I need your help. Does anyone know of any vacancies in any DC nonprofits? Or have any contacts who might be able to help me out? Much appreciated.

Thanks!

Anybody else either already working in DC or know someone who does? I'd love a chance to talk about the sector and the area with you/your friend.

I think I wanted to see a short summary or closing comment highlighted in the reviews. Unlike your blog entries which are read linearly, we tend to "scan" reviews to pick the important points. I liked your personal takes on each book though - so many reviews stick to "objective" point of views and misses what the reviewer really felt.

Not Dead Locke is really the same Locke he's always been, just has his reincarnated memories back, which would date back to being on the beach with Jacob. This could be why Richard Alpert asked him which ones were his things when his visited him as a child.

Would you care to share how you are deliberately progressing your professional development? After some deep introspection I have created a crib list of areas that I feel I am deficient on and require work. I also created a separate list of what I am particularly strong on and focus energy in those areas as well! Then I begin putting myself in situations where I need to 'stretch' to overcome the deficiencies. I can explain more, but the allowed count is quickly dropping..

Penelope Trunk Warning. I'm about to do a very bad personal branding move. Do not try this at home.... I'm so sad today that I can't think straight. And I can't get any work done. But then I thought, well, maybe if I were chatting in my group then that would 1. distract me from being sad and 2. count as me working, since really, on some level, it is my job to be doing this group. I mean, even when we are talking about Lance's (questionable) dating tactics, it still counts as work for me. Is anyone there?

I find if work is busy it distracts me (thank god), but then smthing happens &I lose my shit. Week after week, though, I stay longer, get more done, &enjoy it more.
