After seven years of full time mothering, I am emerging from days of interrupted sleep and diaper changes to find that I have three daughters who are potty trained, sleep through the night, and can entertain themselves well for limited bursts of time. I am using my new-found time and energy to pursue a lifelong dream of freelance writing.
I got my first job freelancing by responding to a status update on Facebook. As a result, I am keenly interested in the effects of social networking on peoples' lives and careers.
I traded my diaper bag for a netbook computer. In addition to renewing my passion for writing, I am pursuing an interest in leadership that ignited at a young age during my experience with Hugh O'Brien Youth (HOBY) Leadership program and continued with my participation in Miami University's Scholar/Leader Program. I have been involved in leading groups, both large and small, in a variety of settings: on the job while working at a non-profit, in church settings with church start up and development, and initiating and directing homeschool cooperative learning experiences.
I have a Bachelor's degree in English/Creative Writing from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and a Masters in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College Graduate School (Wheaton, IL).
I am currently working on development, writing, and promotion for Mountain State University's new leadership blog, LeaderTalk.
