About Me

I am a change agent and have been so for many organizations and people over the past two decades. I am an organization effectiveness professional and I integrate a unique blend of consultative coaching in my work with clients and organizations.

· I am an analytical and highly collaborative problem solver.

· I have consulted, coached and developed leaders in a wide range of organizations including the private, public and non-profits sectors.

· I believe passionately in and have seen the power of developing and engaging people in order to drive results.

I held several positions at People’s United Bank (Bridgeport, CT) for more than 10 years, including the role of Vice President of Learning and Development. During that time, my team and I transitioned an ordinary training department into a successful and strategic organization development group. While there,
we optimized the design, delivery and continuous improvement of our corporate university’s 170+ instructor-led, e-learning, virtual, blended and web conference offerings. Outcomes include a 30% increase in quality of management over 2 year and the relevance of development for employee’s career needs grew from 65% to 89% over 4 years.

My team and I also engaged, facilitated and developed a corporate-wide M&A change model, training & OD solutions to expedite acquisition integration, resulting in an extensive business impact change report, pre-acquisition development and the first 2 day offsite for senior leaders (rated 4.2% out of 5%) as well as post-acquisition continuous learning.

Prior to moving to Connecticut, I was recruited by senior executives from Boeing, Costco and other corporations to lead a community-wide public/private partnership integrating business, social service and education. I established and then served as Executive Director of Communities In Schools (CIS) in Washington state. By leveraging the community, CIS was able to bring resources to ‘children at risk’ through school sites. Fifteen school sites were operational in 7 school districts in less than 2 years.

Once in Connecticut, I served as a Senior Associate at Good Work Associates, a consulting firm in New Haven, before joining People’s. After that, I started an organization development consulting group (Strategic Solutions). In June, 2009, Barbara Healy Associates (BHA) was born, a consulting practice focused on developing people and organizations and providing generational solutions.

I am certified by Development Dimensions International, Corporate Coach University, The Boeing Company’s Accelerated Quality Improvement program and the International Systems Renewal Institute. Other development includes the Actor’s Institute, Harvard Kennedy School’s Art & Practice of Leadership Development, Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Peter Senge’s Leadership and Mastery program.

As an OD consultant, I have had the opportunity and pleasure to work with organizations and individuals. A few outcomes and examples are:

Expanding a traditional corporate OnBoarding program to a significant employee engagement process (focused on attracting and retaining high potential younger employees) - Global Fortune 500 Company

Working with new CEO to develop leadership model and framework, resulting in enterprise-wide development programs, annual leadership events and a new performance management process - Regional Financial Organization

Facilitating strategic planning by working with diverse Board including physicians, nurses, case workers, politicians and corporate executives. The business model moved from a single focus to increased collaboration and resources from agencies and corporations in order to meet patient needs. - Non- Profit

Assessing, analyzing and reporting recommendations to a Leadership Institute in need of changing gears and moving toward a future vision - Ivy League University Institute

Training of Law Enforcement senior leaders on principle-centered leadership - Association

Developing Performance Management Leadership Competencies by working with stakeholders organization-wide - Regional Financial Organization

Working with department management team to establish new vision and goals, increase staff productivity and performance and build cohesive team resulting in a new performance management process that increased the manager and employee partnership by advancing communication, career development and retention skills - Ivy League University Major Department
