Hannah Kane As a social work student, though this should apply to anyone, I need healthy ways to unwind at the end of a long day. For me, that's cooking all the way! There's nothing like a quiche to take my troubles away. What activities do you use to destress? Or do you even have any?

I'm a huge fan of rock climbing and kayaking, and since I don't have a car I'm walking all the time. I just can't afford to join a rock gym right now and the weather's becoming unfavorable for kayaking, so I'm trying to find something else more exciting than a treadmill!

(by the way, lol @ squirrels getting sassy!)

Jennifer Liu: I usually exercise, but sometimes after a stressful or terrible day, I tend towards shopping and listening to music.

Ashley Shute I just started a new job as a Foster Care Case Manager a few weeks ago. They're currently working on an awareness campaign for Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Everyone is pretty apathetic about it. I was thinking of tweeting, blogging, and networking with the few people I know in the area about their effort. Do y'all have any ideas or have you done anything in regard to this particular event in the past that was successful? We're doing ribbons, wear blue and wreth layings, atm.

I will be part of a singing fundraiser against Domestic violence that is being sponsored by the Exchange Club of Haverhill, MA. It will be allowing local church choirs to strut their stuff but it is not a religious event.

Hope to see some of you there!

Good luck to you Ashley and thanks for the work that you do.

However, I'm no expert, so I suggest you read my favorite blog for marketing and PR on a small budget http://www.ducttapemarketing.com/blog/ (for profit but very relevant) and http://mashable.com (best blog in the world for social media) if you haven't already.

Ashley Shute What is everyone's opinion on the firings at b5? Any? Here's the link: http://www.inquisitr.com/61912/b5media-to-launch-new-celebrity-site-wedn... It was crazy news as I have worked with a handful of those that were fired.

But if you think that's bad, Google "Baltimore Sun layoffs" and read about their misadventures in downsizing. One guy left for lunch only to find that upon returning his office key card had been deactivated. A sports reporter was notified via email in the press box while covering an Orioles game. Sadly, having said goodbye to almost half my editorial staff in the last 18 months (some got the axe on xmas eve), I've become immune to these stories.

Allison Jones Have any of you used idealist.org to find a job opportunity? I think idealist.org is a phenomenal resource to the nonprofit sector which is why I am asking you all to read this heartfelt letter from executive director and founder Ami Dar asking for support in this tough economic time. http://bit.ly/9phxne

Akhila Kolisetty Hi everyone! I'm a senior and will be graduating in June. How do you recommend getting your foot through the door for non-profit jobs? There don't seem to be too many entry level jobs in the sector! I've been scouring idealist.org and it's a great resource, but are there any better ways to find out about potential entry-level jobs where I could start working in June? ANY tips for an entry-level job search appreciated! Thanks!

I often see things on indeed.com and simplyhired.com (it's my job to search for jobs, basically) and if the nonprofit has a website they'll definitely post there first if they indeed post like Blake said. Getting to know people working in the area definitely helps. And if you're already in the area, volunteering is a Fantastic way to find out about other opportunities!

It will add to your resume-get your foot in the door, etc. I'd caution you to shoot for entry-level though. If you're passionate about non-profits-a specific cause would be better---download "Tribes" by Seth Godin and go for it! Shoot for the top and you'll land higher than if you shoot for the bottom!!!

Ashley Shute Hey all! Just sending out a token "I'm new here" comment. I'm currently searching for a great non-profit position in the south Texas area after my grant funding was pulled in late October. If anyone has any leads please let me know!
