About Me

Ashley Hoffman is a marketing and public relations professional in Washington, D.C. Currently, she serves as the Director of Marketing and Communications at Brazen Careerist, a career-management website for young professionals and ambitious college students. She is also a Truman National Security Project Partner and a member of Young Professionals in Foreign Policy. Before jumping over to the business side, Ashley worked for several years in the Washington, D.C. foreign policy and national security world. She served as the Deputy Director of External Relations at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS); as Outreach Coordinator at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation; and as Communications Associate at the World Security Institute.

Ashley also previously worked as a contributing editor for The Diplomatic Courier and a reporter for The Daily Iowan, covering issues related to defense, foreign policy, and new media. Hoffman has conducted research abroad, studying conflict resolution in Vukovar, Croatia and the effect of globalization on universal human rights in Aalborg, Denmark. She is an Iowa native and holds a B.A. in Journalism and International Studies from the University of Iowa.
