Arie Genger is a businessman and entrepreneur currently residing in Florida, US. He is managing partner of AGDB Holdings LLC, a partner at a real estate firm and was the founder of Trans-Resources Inc. (TRI), a chemical and agricultural holding company.
Genger was born in Israel and first moved to the United States to attend university. Genger studied Economics and Business Administration at the Bernard M. Baruch College at the City University of New York (CUNY). Arie Genger received his B.A. in 1970 and was awarded the Morton Wollman Medal honoring his academic achievements. Next, Genger continued his studies with his pursuit of a Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A). He successfully completed his studies in 1972 from the same academic institution where he initially earned his B.A.
Upon completing his academic achievements, Genger joined the Rapid American Corporation as an Assistant to the chairman of the Board. At the time, Rapid American Corporation was a multi-billion dollar conglomerate owning and managing a diverse portfolio of stores including: McCrory Stores, Leeds Travelware, Elizabeth Arden cosmetics, International Playtex and Samsonite. Not long after Genger joined the Rapid American Corporation, the company hit hard times. This created an opportunity for Genger to showcase his managerial skill and through his leadership the company experienced a successful reorganization. Following this time period, Arie Genger was promoted to President of McCrory Corporation, the largest of Rapid American's subsidiaries.
After working at the McCrory Corporation, Genger was asked to serve in senior positions within the Israeli government. Genger accepted the offer and during his service he became the personal advisor to the country's future Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon. Later in the year 2001, Genger was appointed by Sharon to serve as the personal emissary to the White House. Just a few years previous, Genger was awarded the Jubilee Award from the Prime Minister at the time, Benjamin Netanyahu. The Jubilee Award recognizes a select few for their involvement in helping to strengthen Israel's economy. At the time, Genger was leading the chemical and agricultural company which he founded in 1985, TRI. For over twenty years, Genger grew the company into a successful corporation with a $1B sales and net income of $150M.
Today, Arie Genger is a partner along with RDA Ventures in AGDB Holdings LLC, a private merchant investment banking firm. AGDB Holdings primarily focuses its activities in the investment and acquisition of small cap companies involved in the chemical, agricultural and fertilizer industries. Genger and RDA Ventures are also investment partners in a fund specializing in multi-family properties located in New York City.
Arie Genger is an active philanthropist, donating to a number of charities and causes. He is a strong supporter of academic institutions as well as hospitals. He established: The Genger Prize, named after his parents and awarded to a school principal for excellent academic and administrative leadership; and the Pinchas Riklis Memorial Foundation Prize which supports academic activities at Bar Ilan University in Israel.
