Riley Carson It's Veteran's Day. It's bizarre that people often say "Happy Veterans Day", since it's meant to be in memorium since it's the day of the Armistice that ended WWI. Anyone else feel a little strange when they're told to have a "Happy Veterans Day"? To me, it's as ironic as saying "Have fun storming the castle".

Just gives me another opportunity to remember my friends who never returned from Vietnam, and the spouses, children and family they left behind.

Actually, "storming the castle" would be fun, compared to climbing out of a trench to charge a hill in the face of intense machine gun, artillery and rocket fire. :)

IMHO, it's "happy" as long as our country sticks to the ideals that the fallen died for--and other veterans and service members VOLUNTEER to protect.

From talking with friends in the private sector, I've met few people who are cognizant of the scope of duties of junior-grade officers (responsible for millions of dollars in equipment, personnel admin, etc.). Am I mistaken in my impression? Looking at my resume, are there better ways to express this in a single-page format? Any help with these questions, or any other advice is most appreciated.
