Andrea V. Lewis Does anyone know of a way to confirm if geo-targeted ads are running properly? Previously, we've only requested a 'live test page' from the publisher's that were geo-targeting prior to launch. I'm looking for a more pro-active way to QA units we've bought once the banners are live.

Advertising and marketing an area where science is not as pervasive as some of the other industries. We still don't really know what motivates people to do certain things (like responding to an ad leads to more purchases) and it's an exciting place to be if you're into meshing data analytics with consumer behavior/psychology.

It was about environmentalism, and I learned a lot about how the US has (or in most cases hasn't) been involved in combating global warming, or changing our policies to make a stronger shift toward sustainability. It made me wish I had majored in poli sci or environmental studies - I loved the material and the professor so much!

I get to work remotely *only* when I have an appointment or if weather conditions are really bad. I agree it does makes a huge difference, but I think Rebecca is right on point, that anything over a 15 minute commute is really unnecessary.

I try to do as you do these days, and avoid anything that I am genuinely embarrassed about online - regardless of privacy settings. In reality, the worst thing you'll find on my Facebook page is rude language and the occasional off-color joke from a friend - in other words, nothing you don't hear about at the water cooler. The whole fracas has actually made me feel more calm about my privacy in general.

I don't think there's anything strange about avoiding a website that has had massive issues with its privacy policy and that owns anything you post on it forever and ever and is really difficult to leave because it won't let you really delete your account.

Also, lots of people aren't on Facebook. It doesn't mean we're wackos. It just means we don't like Facebook. And I think our numbers are growing. The most popular post on my blog for the last 18 months has been the one about why I left facebook.

I often find that he is connected enough to take my drivers/traits/tendencies into account while at the same time being disconnected enough to offer a new perspective on a given situation. I think it is really important to be able to have this type of a semi-connected feedback loop in order to balance the realistic and emotional aspects of work.

I agree with Annabel, though. It is important to have some ground rules. Ours is that we never give career advice that is unsolicited. We listen first and foremost, and then if one of us feels compelled to provide advice we first have to ask if the other is looking for a solution. Otherwise it can feel like your partner is pointing out your flaws.
