I'm really interested in a Public Relations job when I graduate in December. Two companies I'm interested in are, Ogilvy & Mather and Ruder Finn in NY. Any suggestions on things I could be doing now to prepare myself to land a job at either? It's been hard to find PR internships. Right now I have a web development internship..any suggestions are appreciated!

It's for recent graduates, so it should be right up your alley. It's also worth noting that it's not the same as a full-time job, but has the potential to lead into one.
Just for disclosure purposes, I haven't worked for Ruder Finn or participated in this program, but it was one of the recommendations that came my way when I was approaching college graduation.
One other quick thought - check to see if their HR/hiring departments are on Twitter and follow/interact with them there too.

Technology is awesome, and for complete sentences I've always preferred typing (b.1982) but 8 years of college has made it relatively difficult to fully engage and listen to other people talking without writing out things I'm thinking at the same time. Lists, ideas, that sort of thing. "Playing on paper" also makes large meetings much less painful :-)

I pretty much constantly carry a notepad and pen. I love me some technology, but nothing beats the way paper and pen capture spontaneous thought.
