Amy Chiang I'm doing research on how social media can transform organizations. Is your org adopting some method to dialogue with the public? Have you seen interesting changes since this adoption? Message me!

Amy Chiang That Alvin Toffler quote, "The illiterate of the twenty-first century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn" is just like Kurt Lewin's "freeze, unfreeze, re-freeze" model. It's so incredibly relevant as the context in which we function is shifting beneath our feet. http://www.expertmagazine.com/artman/publish/article_1094.shtml

Ryan Healy Check out how much Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin are worth http://bit.ly/cO06h3. The real question is, who brings in the most revenue?

Ryan Healy: Very true. I think Myspace was bought for around $580 Million. That was a few years ago though.

I think the question behind your question is: what makes social networking/media valuable? I think the answer lies here: http://bit.ly/LVGm. Similar to performance management techniques, this site mentions a whole host of ways in which to ID value in the social media space. Revenue is just one of many ways to measure value, I think.

Amy Chiang How are we making sense of our environment? Is everything simply open to interpretation, with no finite end point? http://www.developyourorg.com/?p=126

Amy Chiang Ever wonder how to exert influence when you have no formal authority? Project Managers encounter this issue all the time. A good primer can be found here: http://bit.ly/cQMW1i

Amy Chiang Just finished watching my first episode of Undercover Boss. Based on what I see in the blogs, there seems to be much criticism out there for it... but nothing reminds me more of why I am personally in the business of aligning systems and processes so that they bring out the best in the individual: it's the people that make up the success in any organization. http://bit.ly/9wOVBz

Amy Chiang Chaos Theory meets Change Management. "Chaos theory implies that leadership should not be reserved for merely a distinct few "top" within the organization. Rather, all who hold a stake in the welfare and stability of the organization must "conduct" leadership. Under this new leadership paradigm, organizations must first ensure that that its members revisit the ultimate purpose and core principles of the organization." http://bit.ly/bOGho4

Amy Chiang Have you ever tried to get a project off the ground but found that it was simply too difficult? A good first step is to take a look at what's working in favor of, and what's working against your initiaive: http://bit.ly/c8ytcu

Amy Chiang There's a lot to be said about the value of a shared vision for an organization. Here's Mark Lipton, one of my professors at The New School, speaking on the importance of having full organizational alignment of an *aspiration* (not just a "goal"): http://bit.ly/aM7o6J

Amy Chiang Here's something to start us off so that we are on the same page... http://bit.ly/lDnbw But the way I think about it, at least functionally speaking, is more like this: http://bit.ly/175IcA

I went to a meeting not to long ago called, "The Greatest Minds" in Boston. They broke us out into generations (I fell in the Gen X) and it was interesting to see the range in age that encompassed Gen X. It was an eye opener for me. I decided not to be classified any longer. Let's get after it, no matter what "Gen" we are supposed to be.

Your Ambassador,
Bruny
