I was born on the same day as John Lennon. I don't presume that anyone 'cares' about my personal life, or do I presume that there is a 'need' for my life to be transmitted around the globe; however, since I have been blogging, and I find it very therapeutic, and through my short time here, I have some interesting insights to shed.
Today, I am quite fortunate. I have played music in world famous bars with some of the most amazing musicians, I won spelling bees as a child, had outstanding academics, attended a world class university (University of Florida) and majored in History, was on campus visiting the 'day' of the horrific murders in Gainesville, I watched my father die of cancer for 8 years until he died at the tender age of 54... moved to NYC in pursuit of a music career, watched the world change before my eyes in a matter of minutes, helped reconstruct the torment that only members of the city-at-large could understand from a literal 'birds eye' view. I worked on 47th and 7th in Midtown Manhattan for 6 years - namely during the destruction. I traveled Europe for 40 days in search of the truth and saw every single thing I wanted to see my whole life... lived through Katrina before it quickly turned to a Category 1 and wreaked a bit of havoc upon the shores of Florida... no power for about 4 days... turned on the television to see the peril that would become of the city of New Orleans.
My heart (figuratively speaking) has a lot to give, in a matter of prose, that is. I don't presume much more.
Older now, as we all are, my perspective on life has drastically changed and needs to be adjusted to the changing seasons and times. These days, however, Ruby - my 2 and 1/2 old beagle is my life - I live for her. Shallow as that may be, she is an amazing young gal, and may well have saved my life.
I hope that you enjoy some of these writings. They are, I can assure you 'non-fiction' and straight from the heart, as I always am.
