I grew up in Cajun country, Louisiana, raised on crawfish, gumbo, Coke and too much fried food.
I went to LSU in Baton Rouge intending to become a lawyer, but I caught the journalism bug. I majored in mass communication with a broadcast journalism concentration and minors in business administration and French. I completed internships at newspapers, a TV station and a non-profit.
The most interesting item on my resume is my stint at the International Herald Tribune during my junior year in Paris. I enjoy keeping up my French with Sebastian and the French Podclass, and hope I get a chance to use it again one day.
My first job out of college is at clarionledger.com for The Clarion-Ledger newspaper in Jackson, Miss. I help create and manage multimedia content. I shoot and edit Web videos, create interactive graphics, maintain the Web site and occasionally write. I bug coworkers with requests for online content, and I wear ties.
When I'm not at work, I go out or stay in with my friends. We go to karaoke every Monday at Fenian's Irish pub. I've only gone on stage once: Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young."
I'm a glutton for thrills and intense conversations. I walk really fast. I find humor in odd words and other unique ways of expression. I have an Extroverted-Intuitive-Feeling-Judging personality on the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, if you’re into that sort of thing.
