Ryan Paugh Everyone in the office is bummed out about U.S.A. getting knocked out of the World Cup but I'm trying to look forward. Who are you going to root for now that the United States is out? My money is on Germany but I still think it's a long shot. Whose flag will you be waving?

Rebecca Thorman There are lots of funny noises in our office today since so many of our guys are watching the US-Algeria game. We have a gym with a large TV where half the office is sitting with their laptops and a great many others are watching it from their computers. Still others stayed home to watch the game! Has your company been watching the World Cup? Have you? Are you even trying to get work done this morning?

ChaChanna Simpson: We are all watching at our computers and yelling at them. It's nice to know I'm not the only one not doing any work.

Ryan Paugh Anyone else having a hard time working and watching the World Cup instead? Which team are you picking to win it all? I have Brazil for one of my brackets and Germany in the other (my wild card bracket). Interested in hearing who you guys are picking ...

My sister in law was so mad at me for making that choice, she is from Brazil and she hates Argentina with a passion.
My entire family is actually doing a bet with each other. We all got our own brackets and chose the winners of Groups A-H (I can't remember how many groups there are) and then we worked our ways to the finals. Who ever got the most correct matches at the end wins a total of 8 dollars! Sad and small winners pot I know, maybe it's better that I only bet a dollar, I probably won't win.

Patrick Pho: Here's a question- is this different than what usually happens around The Olympics?

He just has to get adjusted to life without a squeeky clean image and accept being human, and his fans will accept that also. Some of the greatest folk heroes are ones who messed up and bounced back once they got back.

Tiger has done some pretty heinous things, but I still respect him as a pro athlete and hope he can change his life and eventually bounce back.

Megan Cassidy If more in the middle, they can choose how they want to be seen. Also depends on how good they are. Best people aren't always most gifted.

Megan Cassidy If the player's reputation is extreme one way or the other, like Tim Tebow versus Mike Vick, the media will harp on the good or the bad.

128 weeks ago from Women in Sports

Jennifer Musgrove I think a player definitely creates their reputation and the media does their part to enhance it one way or the other.

128 weeks ago from Women in Sports

Jessica Bahr I think it depends on the size and popularity of the sport.

Megan Ogulnick Questions-Does a player create his reputation or does the media? How does the media affect a reputation? Is it all the player? Thoughts?
