Ryan Paugh I felt the need for a impulse buy today so I bought a new snowboard for this winter. I've lived in Wisconsin for more than 3 years now, but I have never gone to any of the mountains. Which is your favorite? I hear that the best in close proximity to Madison is Devil's Head. I'd like to try out Tyrol Basin as well because it is closer to my side of town.

Ryan Paugh Just chowed down on some Ian's Mac and Cheese pizza. It's my guilty pleasure when it comes to the amazingly unhealthy, yet delicious, food that Madison has to offer us. Gotta love it! What's your guilty pleasure in Madison? Another one of mine is The Weary Traveler's Bad Breath Burger. Share yours with me ...

Ryan Paugh I'm an outcast during football season because of course I'm a Penn State guy, but a food blogger friend of mine asked me where he should go tailgate tomorrow for the Badger game. He's doing a cross-country tailgate tour and will be in town tomorrow. Thoughts on where he should spend his time?

TOP IDEA: Ryan Paugh I was really excited to be featured in the most-recent edition of the Isthmus (http://bit.ly/bNaaWk) talking about job hunt strategies that UW grads are utilizing. I talk a little bit about Brazen, but mostly about the future of the job search. Despite the down economy I'm optimistic. I see recent grads taking bigger risks and putting themselves out there in ways they wouldn't have done 5 years ago. They're being more proactive than ever. What do you see recent grads doing differently?

Reply to Barbara,

Career choices are extremely important whether you are 20 or 55. Our country was built on industry (farming, coal, steel, manufacturing). It does not resolve the other half or 3/4 of the economy where we are employed (teachers/health/social services/marketing). We are not all suited to start a business, we have to find that 'nitch' that suits our well being, experiences, and education.

Ryan Paugh Just bought a season pass to Wisconsin State Parks. This is the first year that I've bought one for the entire year. Ryan...we buy an annual every year and it always pays itself off ten-fold.

One thing we LOVE to participate in is all of the candlelight hikes in the Fall and Winter. They do them out at Kohler, Lapham, Blue Mounds and Kegonsa to name just a few. They illuminate the trails with candles and torches and you go for a dark, snowy hike with your family...most of them offer bonfires and Cocoa/Cider/Coffee/Marshmallows at the end.

Sure, scaling rock out at Devil's in the middle of summertime is always epic, but the real hidden jewels offered up with your park pass start to shine when it cools off around here.

Best thing to do is go to the WDNR website and check the Calendar to see what's going on.
