Dominique Aubry Gretchen: I am an alumni of City Year and I agree with you that the network is lacking. At the central administrative level they can often provide networks and leads however, building viable networks through the alumni group it self is difficult for various reasons. I have managed and participated in many alumni boards. Please let me know if I can be of help in any way. I am also work in workforce development so i am often receiving information on interesting jobs all over the country.

Gretchen Anyone using contacts made through your volunteering to job search and/or network? I haven't found this to be too successful for myself but I know other program alumni who have been successful.

Natalie Jones I'm also a current volunteer, however an Augustinian one. I'm working in the Bronx as the Activities & Education Coordinator at Siena House, a homeless shelter for pregnant women & infants. My time here so far has only increased my desire to enter the nonprofit sector and start a career where I can address social justice issues such as poverty, hunger, homelessness & immigration reform.

Tom O'Keefe Hey Gretchen! Great idea to start this group! I'm currently a Jesuit Volunteer in Baltimore teaching high school at Cristo Rey Jesuit. Education policy is definitely something that intrigues me, too!

Gretchen I'm a Former Jesuit Volunteer who now works in health research at Columbia University but I'm interested in pursuing a career education policy. Much of my life goals and interests are a direct result of my participation in JVC. I hope others will share their own volunteer experiences!
