Triangle Community of Developing Careerists (TCDC) is a group that meets monthly in Raleigh, NC.

I left my job of 17 years in California, moved to North Carolina and cannot get a job. I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and a MBA and I am told I am "over-qualified." What is with that? I have two resumes, one with the degrees and one saying I am in college. I have over $100K in student loans and I am wondering if I did the right thing.

I know salaries are lower in the south and I think you are right about the degrees. I am proud of what I have achieved, but it is time to move on. I never thought it would be this difficult once I got my MBA. I had an interview at a major bank yesterday. I enjoy working and helping people and the salary is not as big of an issue as it was in California.
