Casey Brown Greetings I'd like to join an area Toastmasters Club in the Atlanta but I'm not sure where to go (I've been to the site but would like to know what locations you all visit) and what is the process and price of becoming an official member?

I would encourage you to try a few different Toastmasters clubs in your area and see which one "fits". I have steadily improved my presentation skills at work since I joined toastmasters up in Toronto. All the best!

Ms Ellis:
For a person who is not a professional speaker, Toastmasters will provide you with a platform to guide you on how to generate a positive feeling about speaking publicly, the ability write different type of speeches, and learn how to use body language to speak to the audience.
I used Toastmasters to build my speaking ability and to cultivate my speech writting. Toastmasters is a great organization for speakers, presentors and facilitators as long as your in a lively group.
Best of luck,

Thao Le How has Toastmasters changed your speaking confidence? Are you a better speaker after Toastmasters or do you still jump from topic to topic because you're shy, nervous, and anxious?

I am certainly learning through Toastmasters and my skills at prepared and impromptu speaking are improving and so are my listening skills. There are specific faults that I'm able to concentrate on and eliminate from my speaking which will be a great help. (I've almost completed my 1st year as a TM and been Vice President Public Relations for my club this last year.)

Rahul Mehta Do you think 140 character limit is too less for a toastmaster?

123 weeks ago from Toastmasters

David Faragó: 140's quite short for big TM matters :) But we do learn do get to the point!

Rahul Mehta In my expereince most evaluators give boiler plate evaluations that are not useful to the speaker's development. please comment.

124 weeks ago from Toastmasters

David Faragó: Good evaluations are essential for a good club! Our good TMs deeply analyse the speech & give individual feedback that's all but boilerplate

Rahul Mehta I am an ATM-B / CL. Since a long time, I stopped my TM activities. I find it got a little monotonous. Does anyone feel the same way?

124 weeks ago from Toastmasters

David Faragó: Sometimes I think it is slightly monotonous & my progress's stagnating. But then I notice, for instance, errors I just learned to avoid :)
