I love Boystown personally.
Chicago Insider (www.mychicagoinsider.com) is not as up to date as I would like it to be because I am working on my other business projects (www.nicolebienfang.com) and the site is more or less a pet project, but keep it in mind as I will be trying to get back to keeping it updated with food specials, drink specials events etc.

Noel Rozny Chicago people -- is it true that the city isn't enforcing the "2 inch" snow tow rule for the next few days on the major streets? I have a parking spot (for once in my life) in our alley, but I can't actually get the car into it ... Any advice would be much appreciated!

Kristine Fetalco Anyone in the city thinking about business school in the future? I was reading a book today about business school and thought, "What if there's a group here that meets regularly to discuss case studies and talk about business schools, years before they actually apply?" Would like to see how much interest there is for something like this.

Kristine - looks like you and I have moved in opposite directions (I went from Chicago to LA to SF and you the opposite).

While i'm sure everyone will be eager to give you tips on great places to see in Chi-town (it is my most favorite city of all), I will have to put in a plug for the burbs too. There are great festivals in the surrounding areas (try Naperville's RibFest in July for starters), but other worthy ones to check out if you want to get a good balance between the city-life and the burbs.

Kristine Fetalco What are your ideas for fun things to do in Chicago in the winter? This is my first winter in Chicago, coming from Los Angeles. Before Los Angeles I lived in a tropical city, so snow is really something new to me. I get asked by people what we all do in Los Angeles with all that sun, and my question is, what can you do in Chicago with all this snow? Looking forward to your suggestions!

Make your way 10-12 miles out of the city to one of our great forest preserves and do some hiking or cross-country skiing. Wilmott Ski has a few hundred feet of down-hill - about an hour NW of the city. Lincoln Park Zoo is beautiful in the winter (and free), and of course take advantage of the smaller crowds at the Art Institute, Aquarium, Museums, etc.

I'll try to do some outdoor winter activities, since these are things I haven't done yet. I'll definitely look for bars with a fireplace. Will check out the theater scene-- didn't know about that, but maybe that's because I got tired of it in LA.

A suggestion I have is sit in the apartment with a south facing view of the city-- and notice how the Willis Tower and the Trump Tower disappear on foggy days and nights. It makes the city look a lot different!
