The 6 Figure Young Professional

Hi Everyone,

This group is for Young Professionals making 6 figures or more plus anyone that is looking to get there.

To be above board and provide transparency, I am asking that you do one thing if you join this group: indicate if you currently ARE making 6 Figures or if you WANT TO BE making 6 Figures. Cool? Thanks.

Making 6 figures isn't for everyone and I definitely am not a proponent of wealth for wealth's sake, extravagance, or greed. As well, I don't believe 6 Figure earners are better than anyone else - I definitely don't judge someone by the size of their paycheck.

But what I'm thinking is this - if someone in their 20's or 30's knows 'why' they want to make 6 figures and has the ideas and work ethic to do so, I say go for it. There's not point in waiting until you're 60 and it's too late to spend it!

In fact, a big reason I wanted to make 6 Figures was because it has allowed me to give a lot of my salary away to my church and other charities to help those in need.

I had my first 6 figure job at age 25 and haven't looked back since.

Join me.

Looking forward to connecting and helping more Young Professionals in their 20's or 30's make 6 figures.

Talk soon,

Andrew

P.S. Question for you: how do we make this the best network on Brazen? We are smart, hard working, creative people - let's do this!!

I have wasted away my talents and lost track of my goals. Now that I am trying to get back on track I'm finding it MUCH more difficult than it ever should have been. Is there any advice you can give a 25 year old with lots of untapped intelligence that isn't shown very well by her past? I'm in debt and I'm trying to go to college for psychology, but I don't have good enough credit to get a loan. I'm really struggling to find a job right now too. Any advice?

Well, Amber I am glad that you first understand that you made a mistake. It is hard for people to admit that.
Second, is your attitude. You have to change your attitude about this. Instead of saying I am trying to find a job and go to college. Start saying I will go to college and I will find a job. You have to push yourself to get to where you want to be. Your attitude determines your latitude. Not to be cliche, but it so true.
Third, you have to write an action plan to get your goals. Your action plan has to be realistic. For me my action plan in a situation like yours was to go to community college first. Go to night classes maybe a start for you as well. (I have a story I will send to you about this lady that was in a similiar situation as well)
Start out with those and then you will be back on your feet in no time and then back on the path to success!

Although having things are nice with a 6 figure job, I wonder what people would really do once they have accomplished this? My goal would be to provide housing for myself first, second, make it a place where people would connect as I would always have old friends and new friends over - especially those who do not have families or families are severely dysfunctional. Topic m/b, what would you do w/a 6 figure income?

Great question Bryon. Money is just means to an end.
*I would put together a "give back" plan which starts from the places I grew up and organizations that have contributed to who I am.
*Retire my wife
*Create an organization called, "See a Problem, Fix a Problem" using my human and dollar resources to fix any issue that bugs me in the world.

That's the short list.

Andrew Parkes Maybe a good way to start off is this: - at what age did you first make $100K? - what one tip could you offer others looking to do the same?
