I'm trying to devise strategies to see how we can bridge social enterprises with today's technologies and trends. If anyone would like to bounce ideas or chat more about it, please let me know. Thanks!

It's nearly impossible to effectively change a project plan from what I can tell.

Does anyone have other suggestions? Pivotal Tracker looks interesting, and it's free. I need something that can do project management and time tracking for consulting gigs.

If you want files on your machine (not that it is any more secure there the moment you connect to the Internet) instead of the web and you want pretty Gantt charts, use MS Project or the like. I had to use the webmaster tools removal tool to remove these from the cache.

On top of that, google saves pages for six months after you robots.txt deny them, so those could contribute to duplicate meta tags as well...

This question sounds strange, but I find that the only way I can limit my interaction with others in the online world is to simply go to a location where I cannot get Internet.

I tend to have e-mail, RSS, and Twitter applications running whenever I'm at my computer, and seeing icons with numbers or notification overlays everywhere was a bit distracting. So I turned them all off. It's not really a break from social media, but at least I'm not constantly reminded that I'm connected - letting me get other work done online but still allowing me to switch gears if I want to.

I just try to stay off the computer if at all possible. It's helped a lot with achieving some balance.

You'll need a domain name, and a hosting provider (I like Dreamhost) who supports PHPBB, or some other bulletin board system.

A one-click install will create the database for you, copy all required files, and have you up and running with a fully functioning BBS in a few minutes. From there it's up to you to administer it, and customize it to your liking.

Hi Mara,
Dreamweaver has never created clean code (unless something drastically changed in the last couple of years). I'd suggest learning how to use HTML and CSS to code pages you design in Photoshop (this is a typical workflow). A brief understanding of PHP is helpful as well.

I'd suggest www.alistapart.com in addition to www.w3schools.com for HTML and CSS.
