Bernard Ferret Are you looking for a "green" job? I just completed 3 studies about green job creation by green companies funded by venture capital. I looked at GE's Ecomagination Challenge winners (http://tinyurl.com/3jxqas3), and startups funded by Khosla Ventures (http://tinyurl.com/4y337gn), and Kleiner-Perkins (http://tinyurl.com/3o7t4ac). Theses startups are the "hot" ones that attract major venture capitalists, and some of them will be the big winners in the green economy.

Edward Antrobus This is, in fact, a rant. So feel free to ignore it. But what am I doing wrong here? After checking every day over a dozen company job boards, job search aggregators, and specialty job boards, I find about 1-2 mediocre-fitting listings a week, and a good fitting listing about every 2 months. Applying and even following up produces 0 results 90% of time. Networking over 2 years has dug up 3 people in my field who have all refused to meet in person and provided a total of 1 referral. *End rant*

TOP IDEA: Becky Benishek Where does CSR--corporate social responsibility--rank when you’re researching a company or organization? Is it a deal-breaker if the company doesn't get involved? Or do you see it as an opportunity to start your own programs? http://bit.ly/e0nqb5

However a lot of big companies hire CSR experts to align their culture and philosophies with a CSR stance. For me a company's mission statement should clearly outline their CSR position and I often look to this statement when researching future employers. If you can't say in a few sentences what corporate responsibility means to your company, then you probably aren't going to be able to uphold any type of commitment. At the end of the day it comes down to accountability - those organizations that put more effort into a CSR campaign should hold themselves accountable for all the commitments they make. This is when CSR becomes a way of life - rather than a marketing ploy.

It is interesting, but nothing I want to do for the rest of my life ;) I have been looking into further education in the sustainability field, but as I have already a Master in Innovation and another one in Quality for now I will go for meeting with people, getting contacts etc ;)

Claire Veuthey Rebecca, what was your intent in creating this network? And what's your role specifically in this field? I'll start: I'm a researcher for a responsible investment research provider; our clients are mostly institutional investors. Looking forward to your reply!
