I mean, WHY should they give up their space just because your laptop needs to be recharged? Sounds like it's YOUR personal problem to me, not a rudeness issue. Get an external battery pack and be done with it.

I never know what I want when I walk into a cafe or fast food resteraunt, which is why I always stand to the side and look at the menu first.

@JRandom & Kate, I've never understood the allure of bringing your laptop to a cafe to work. It's noisy and usually crowded.

Cameron Plommer My company is looking to speak with student entrepreneurs, specifically those of you doing tech projects or creating tech companies. We are doing focus groups in Seattle and nation-wide phone interviews. We are looking to talk to CS and business students, but if you are entrepreneurial and in school (or just out of school) we want to talk to you. We are giving $150 in incentives as well. Email me at Cameron.Plommer@Alterian.com or reply to this thread if you are interested.

Kenji Crosland Hey folks. The startup down the hall from our office, estately.com, is looking for an all around admin-type person to pick up all the extra work that startups have to contend with. It's not a glorious job, but it's a great way to break into the Seattle startup community. I've met the CEO and he seems like a great guy to work for. What's more, we get to be neighbors! If you're interested either message me or leave a comment. I'll put in a good word for you.

How about measuring something more important that actually makes a visible difference? I'm disappointed. Instead of rambling on, I think Amber Naslund said it best: "How Fast Company Confused Ego With Influence" http://www.brasstackthinking.com/2010/07/how-fast-company-confused-ego-w...

I won't be clicking on any unique link to Fast Company, thank you very much.

Cameron Plommer I am wondering if you guys would like to start a Seattle book bartering system. There are certain books I'd like to get, but a) don't want to buy them, and b) have very long wait times at the libraries. So if person X has book A and person Y has book B, they can trade for a set amount of time and everybody learns, saves more and wins. I don't think we would need to set up a new network since this would be a Seattle-specific thing. I'm looking to read Rework, wanna trade?

Cameron Plommer I am part of a group of community members in Seattle, WA who are taking action to make Seattle carbon-neutral by 2030. And with the announcement by the City Council's goal of making Seattle carbon-neutral we feel now is the critical moment. We have recognized a need for all stakeholders to come together in one room to collaborate and share resources in order for this goal to be accomplished. We want Seattle to be the Silicon Valley of the carbon economy. Continued...
