If I can say that most if not all of my energy goes towards the former of those options, then I'd say it's a good job. Otherwise, I'm not interested.

Being that I've been in both worlds, the corporate world wants to track everything and analyze everything to the core. Analysis is good, but at times, there comes an point to where action should take place. Small businesses - most are focus on getting the job done and value added services are truly value added without to many additional fees.

Good tip Zach. Ryan, for Blogger or BlogSpot blogs, the feed-per-label can be generated by a url like:

Replace the "Label" portion at the end of the url with the blog post category. Note: the "Label" tag is case-sensitive.

Especially in a teamwork environment, you can not ignore them or team them harshly. This will go against the team concept your company is trying to create. I suggest you get to know them a bit better and find out what makes them tick or what are their interests. You may be surprised that they are not as bad as you previously thought and just may have something valuable to contribute to the company, your department and you.

Hi Bobbi
Check out this new blog on the Myth of Time Management
It deals with getting our personal, social and business life organized and in order. It challenges the current organizational tips mainly the idea of "Time Management" and introduces a new concept call "Task Management" It teaches that there is a better way to manage our busy schedules.
So far it has four parts to it. The below URL is Part 1, follow the blog to the rest.

Cybyl,

Way to take action! I would say the opposite if you had said "I'm going to TRY to expand my education." During your interviews there must be a time when you are asked a question where your answer didn't seem to be what the interviewer was looking for, so my suggestion to you is to make a note each time this happens. It's all about having CONFIDENCE in your current abilities.

My thoughts:
1) I believe the list actually helps create balance
I haven't fully lived the list - but without having ever seen it, and having done pretty well navigating large companies, I realize most of these items are necessary to survive, thrive and advance.
2) Difference between reputation & political presence. Following the spirit of the list and delivering good results likely builds a solid reputation. A boost via politics often requires promotion by yourself & others to fan your flame.
