Fox Sports May Lose Jeff Goodman to CBS Sports Media
Shakeup: According to a source, there's about to be a massive shakeup in the
tiny media world of college basketball. A source says that Jeff Goodman, the
lead college basketball writer at Fox Sports, is set to leave and take a job at
rival CBS Sports. I reached out to Goodman, who would only say, I'm under
contract at Fox Sports and I love it here. At CBS, Goodman would team with the
other college basketball writer who breaks the majority of
transfers/hires/fires/news, Gary Parrish. They would form a stronger
news-breaking tandem than the Forde/Katz/O'Neil triumvirate at ESPN. I imagine
the lure of potential TV-time at CBS is probably an attractive one for Goodman.
Landon Donovan to Manchester City Dont Buy It. English soccer reporters are
starved prisoners. Theyre chained by the same news-making demands as American
journalists with far less access. When they receive any nugget of hard news it
gets amplified and distorted to the point of absurdity. Manchester City manager
Roberto Mancini started a rumpus yesterday, allegedly claiming the club might be
interested in Landon Donovan. To those hoping he moves abroad, dont get too
excited. Here is the quotation. Mancini is asked specifically about Donovan. He
responds Donovan is adidas predator 2011 a good player. Could be possible.
Man City scouted Donovan at the World Cup. They are perhaps the only European
club bad enough to want him and wealthy enough to afford him. The comment,
however, suggests plausible, not definite interest. Hes
probably a backup option, should they not complete
their $40 to $45 million deal for James Milner (absolutely insane).Even if Man
City want him and MLS, who explicitly said no, agreed, its not a no-brainer move
for Donovan. David Moyes stuck him straight into the lineup at Everton. At Man
City he would fight for a place with newly signed Spain star David Silva, Adam
Johnson and Shaun Wright-Phillips. Carlos Tevez can play there as well. The only
times in his career Donovan has competed for a spot where his stints in Germany.
It didnt go well.MLS ideal scenario is a Los Angeles-New York MLS Cup final with
Beckham, Donovan, Henry and the third Red Bull DP (most likely Rafa Marquez). It
would be the two biggest markets and stars to appeal to a casual audience and
every significant soccer fan base. Its hard to see the Galaxy letting Donovan go
without a marquee star mercurial vapor super (Ronaldinho) to replace him.
getting that organized before the MLS window closes on August 14. It will be
hard for Landon to leave for Europe and, if it does happen, it most likely will
be after the MLS season. Elissa Montanti .mipy

child on the other side Soccer Cap/Hat of the world that changed her life--for
good. The letter was a plea for medical help from Kenan Malkic, then 12 years
old, who had lost his leg and both arms when, playingsoccer,he stepped on a
landmine near his home in Bosnia.Montanti had worked on a fund-raiser for
Bosnian children and wanted to do more. She was in the office of former U.N.
Bosnian Ambassador Mohamed Sacirbey when the ambassador showed her Kenan’s
letter. Montanti immediately found her calling. She began enlisting airlines,
hospitals, and a prosthetic manufacturer to donate their services. The boy and
his mother came to stay at Elissa's home in Staten Island, N.Y. as he had
surgeries and received prosthetic limbs. But Montanti didn’t stop there. She went
to Bosnia and, after a tour of hospitals and orphanages, she brought another
child--and then another--to the U.S. for treatment. She founded the Global
Medical Relief Fund (GMRF), a nonprofit that works to get free medical help for
children hurt or maimed in war or natural disasters. In ten years, GMRF has
helped 60 children from Bosnia, El Salvador, Liberia, Mexico City, Niger, Sierra
Leone, Iraq, Indonesia, and Pakistan. The Amish Immaculee Ilibagiza Todd Corbin

How can I not do it I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night.” Montanti has
made several dangerous trips to Iraq and is
currently working to get travel visas for three Iraqi children from the same
family. “The youngest is seven and lost both legs up to his torso,” Montanti
said. “None of them can walk. They have no crutches, they have no wheelchair,
they have no home, they have no nothing.”But they have Montanti, and the cadre
of volunteers she coordinates around the country and around the world. Trying to
bring war-zone kids to the States can be a long and discouraging process. “I
always succeed,” Montanti says.Montanti long ago gave up her job to work GMRF’s
two phone lines fulltime. “It’s 24-7,” she said. “My husband, God bless him, we
live very modestly.” The couple have no children of their own, but many of the
children they help stay with them during their treatment. Kenan, now 23 and
attending college in the U.S., lives with Montanti and speaks on behalf of the
fund. She calls him “my little miracle” and says his determination inspires
her.On Nov. 16 of this year, “To Walk Without Fear,” a documentary film about
Kenan, Montanti, and GMRF, premiered at the United Nations. The film was made by
Montanti’s nephew, and she hopes it will raise awareness for the plight of
injured children everywhere. This inspiring 70-minute film is available for
purchase through www.globmed.org.“I just try to do the best I can, and I ask God
for guidance to help me,” she says.To learn more about Global Relief Medical
