New Job, New You

The average young American will have about 9 jobs between the ages of 18 and 32. The gutsiest and most innovative individuals have taken this trend a step further. They have changed not just their jobs, but their fields, and have successfully supported themselves in different careers over a period of several years.

This Network was created to talk about changing our jobs and changing our lives.

Took a chance on a new career path last October and thought I wanted a more 'structured people oriented' position which only landed me in office more focused on drama then getting the work done. Recently gave my notice and already started working w/ 2 start-ups and building communities for them. Counting down to the last day of what I call 'Job B' to finally dig into something I truly enjoy and know will challenge me.

I wonder if this could be solved by changing up job roles, titles and responsibilities. If a company is tight on money and cannot offer raises/more benefits, they owe it to their employees to be flexible if they want to keep them.

I would like to focus on moving my career towards opportunities that allow me to use my voice and presentation skills. A training/facilitator/consultant position is where I am focusing. I realize that is a little bit broad. As I continue to search and get input from others, I think I will be able to narrow my focus.
