Matt Stratton: Yup. There are lots of solutions around this problem. The Recycle Bin just isn't one of them :)

I also work with SharePoint (who doesn't, these days), but stay as far away from Exchange as I possibly can (nothing specific about Exchange, per se, I just hate managing mail :) )

Isaac Oben Anyone have an idea why when you delete a document/folder from a network share it is permanently deleted and as oppose to going to the recycle bin?

Basically, when you put something in the recycle bin, it simply moves it to a hidden folder on the same volume (and each user has a different Recycler folder on each volume). On a network share, if you had this type of functionality, it would require a Recycler folder on the volume for each user who ever deleted something...and it could lead to massive admin headache as these recycler folders grew out of control.
