Dan Hanyzewski I was a fan of David Smith , one of Americas most revered metal sculptors . One of his famous quotes stated that "everything is reality because the mind cannot concieve anything unreal". He obviously wasn't on the writing staff of this forever classic series. Just a side bar, he told the world he was going to kill himself and then promptly wrapped his truck around a tree and succeeded.

Elizabeth Marling The very first critic in recorded history, tired of seeing plays end with an actor dressed as a god lowered in on ropes, arms outstretched, with the audience was left to assume a happy ending, wrote of this first faux-pas: 'deuce ex machina.' It was so cute how the writers titled episodes that name, like 'ha ha, fooled you.' Oh Darlton, no witty bit of confab can atone for the original sin of drama. There is no excuse for the old god-in-the-machine trick. That bit stank 2000 years ago.

Stephen Bandrowsky The Lost finale was fantastic. It didn’t answer all the questions. Instead it focused on the characters we had grown attached to for six years. We learned about their lives, were excited when they triumphed, and saddened when they failed. And the finale continued this. It left us with the idea that these people were important to each other because of the impact they made on each other. It was about the relationships. And that, I believe, was the only true way they could end the series.

Ryan Paugh What are you guys watching on TV now that LOST is over? I've been watching a lot of Reality TV actually. My new guilty pleasure is Billy The Exterminator. No joke. I love this show. I think it's because he loves his job so much and I love seeing that. What's your guilty pleasure?

Ryan Stephens: For those who enjoyed LOST I can recommend: Dexter, Mad Men, The Wire, Friday Night Lights, and to a lesser extent Fringe and Justified.

I for one felt that there were plenty enough of answers, and still a lot of ambiguity left for interpretation. Of special interest to me is that the "burden" was effectively passed to Hurley and a Second (Benjamin Linus). That one happenstance says to me that we still could expect a pairing similar to Jacob and the Man in Black. (Can Benjamin ever be a wholly positive force?)

I also parse carefully the query by Eloise Hawking to Desmond Hume, whether he had to take everyone. Is there indeed a great distinction between those who are left "in the world" and who are brought to the church? My reading says no, that those in the church are brought there to an eternal moment of now so that they are part of Jack's moment of eternity. I read further that not all the people brought to Jack's gathering had died at the same time as Jack, but that Jack is experiencing a moment that is eternity, and that all others can experience their own moment of eternity that allows them all to share the same experience.

(I hope this makes sense to others, perhaps I need to rewrite for clarity, and to edit more as I write.)

Ryan Paugh I thought that Target did an awesome job with their "Targeted" advertising during the LOST series finale. Here's an article w/ all three commercials + a few funny spoofs: http://bit.ly/b9XZlo It surprises me that more brands didn't follow suit. Supposedly 30-sec ads during the finale cost more than $900K and I can only imagine how many millions of people tuned in. Why not target your ads to LOST's loyal fans? KFC doing Mr. Cluck's Chicken ads maybe? Budweiser doing Dharma Beer? Too late!

Cherita Smith Am I the only one who thought Jacob was the "good" guy and MIB the "bad" one, but after last night's episode am now not so sure? Jacob was kind of a jerk - the smoke monster is all his fault, and the crazy mom liked MIB better. What's up with that?

From what I understand, Doug, it's going to be a little further back than those more recent happenings you would like answered.

On EW.com, Darlton stated the build up for this whole season was for this episode to show that MiB really IS bad. My reaction to that is - REALLY? I mean, there was an "ah-ha" moment when you figured it out, but it doesn't explain why the rest of the season has been soooo lame. With that said, so if MiB doesn't want off the island, does that negate the rest of the season about if he DOES get off? Or is there another way that we just don't know about?

Ryan Paugh Anyone have any idea of who this week's episode centers around? My DVR cut off last week's previews. My guess is Locke? I had to get a refresher on what the conversation was like and, according to Lostpedia, it was this...

"Moments later, Desmond met Jack Shephard, while training at the same stadium. During their short conversation, Desmond suggested that Jack is running the stadium stairs because of frustration having to do with a woman. Jack confided in Desmond about his patient, Sarah, whom Jack had no hope of fixing. Desmond pointed to the possibility of miracles. Sarah's subsequent unexpected healing suggests that possibly Desmond was right."

This sounds a lot like the conversation he had with Hurley.
