According to the work of research psychologist, Dr. Elaine Aron (www.hsperson.com), 20% of humans and animals are born with highly sensitive *nervous systems* that wire us to process more data more thoroughly. There are gifts and challenges with this inherited, neurophysiological trait. If you felt drawn to the name of this group -- if you immediately resonated with the term -- that's an intuitive clue that you are probably part of the 20% of the population that are highly sensitive.
