Like most of my peers, I worked with going to college full-time, and that seemed to be typical on our "commuter campus". But since I graduated, I got very invloved with the program I graduated from, starting an alumni organization, working with the instructors and director on keeping the program current, helping organize events for students and reunions for alumni, even teaching in the program and sponsoring a student competition. Interestingly enough, a lot of people are willing to show up or contribute as long as someone else is doing the organizing. I'm not sure if this type of involvement counts as "school spirit" but I definitely consider my alma mater an integral portion of my life as well as resource and place to network.
