Rob Smart Love black and white, Wim Wender's (through the mouth of the director character) said that in Black and White you can see the shape of things.

Eoghann Irving I'm curious. How many of you enjoy watching old black and white movies? I've noticed that amongst my peers there's a tendency only to watch movies from the late 70's (or sometimes 80's) and onwards. I suspect this is relates to the age of the people and what movies they grew up watching.

Korea); Enter the Void. Egoyan is now making a film about the kids from the Paradise Lost documentaries, a feature apparently not another documentary (there's a third one of those already out). Could be interesting. Also looking forward to Wim Wenders documentary about Pina Bausch (in 3-D no less).

Brett Kunsch It's the weekend, so I'm done with the work talk my fellow BCs. What movie are you most looking forward to this Spring/Summer? And do you predict Hollywood will give us better entertainment than last year?

Ben I thought this was interesting advice from an interview with the former Disney CEO: "When my son wanted to go to undergraduate film school, I called George Lucas, who told him: Don’t go. Learning to make a movie is like learning to drive. Anybody can learn to drive. It’s where you drive that counts."

Direct Robert Rodriguez gave similar advice in his book "Rebel Without a Crew" (http://amzn.to/egrcFg). Except, that it seems rather scary, a bit unnerving, and also intriguing as to (the beginnings) of just how truly weird online social networking can be.

Example: I got a Facebook Friend Request the other day; the person had no photo or avatar; they only had one other friend listed; and they never sent me a message, when I requested more information, just posted a profile shot which (I'm sure) was a filched identity, just like the personal information. Conclusion? Run away!!

Brett Kunsch: Yes, run away! Catfish most certainly explores the darker side of social networking. I say no more.

Iz To all the indie filmmakers in this network, I was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting their film screened in Toronto? No it's not TIFF, I just got a great rate from a cinema and since I'm already looking at an indie music video film fest I think it would be great if we could get some feature length filmmakers some shine. Details to follow but get at me before hand for any questions you might have.
