Alison Rayner Hey Jay, thanks for joining the network. I'm always surprised when I hear locals complaining about this city because I think of all the awesome things to do here. I love the arts & there are more festivals going on in the summer than one can have the energy to attend. I also love the river valley. Geographically, we're pretty lucky. What did you get to do when you were here?

Most significantly, by far: Went to a music store on south side of river, and copied down chords to Bob Dylan's Like A Rolling Stone. then went to truck to compare Dylan's part to the chords I had, and to separate out from the other great players on that LP, my #1 Rock and Roll album of all time.

By time I got to Banff, had learned, and played that tune 4 or 5 times in an hour and a half, to rave reviews. Made a ton.

Also in Edmonton, saw some theatre. a local thespian, Davina Smith? invited me to a performance. she worked at the book store in the Union. I asked her out. she said no, but invited me to her play.

And got published in the Solstice. Also, experienced Karaoke for first time, at a Chinese restaurant near ????Square, where a lot of Pioneer Days were going on.

Then on to Miette Roche, Jasper, Icefields, Banff.

It's good to be Alberta bound!

Really, I need to get back soon. Have never forgotten Edmonton and AB. I"m a big Caps fan, but always root for Edmonton in the West.

Jay Hepner Spent a great 5 days in Edmonton, hanging around the U of A. Wrote a guest article in UA "Solstice," dated July...23-25, 1991. Not sure of their publication day, but it was that week. Really loved Edmonton, and AB in general. Planned to get back to Jasper and Banff following year, but it never happened, and hasn't since, I regret to say. Eastern CA is much closer.

Alison Rayner I think Edmonton is deserving of a network and I'm really curious to see if any other Edmontonians are a part of Brazen. I am inspired by life in Edmonton and have enjoyed my life here. I hope to hear from others who have lived here for a time or are job searching like me.
