Sara Any suggestions on creative ways to hire local talent in China? I've tried headhunters, websites (51jobs.com, zhaopin.com) and just implemented an employee referral program, but still struggling to find good candidates. Job fairs are good for recent graduates, but I'm looking for candidates with 5+ years of experience. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Michael If you are looking for a systematic and proven means of building your professional network and launching a career in China email me at michaelparkmp@gmail.com. I tried to copy paste my outline in here but it's way beyond 500 words. This is specific to twenty-somethings and recent grads, not older senior execs with families.

Michael Wessel Greetings everyone. I was wondering if any of you happened to know a good intensive Chinese school within China. I will be traveling there for a decent time but would also like to study the language. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Firstly, you don't need to pay western prices to find a decent Chinese programme. I studied mainly in the northeast of China (Dalian) and split my time between studying intensive grammar and characters at a Chinese university, and conversational Mandarin at a private school. I would highly recommend Dalian as a good place to study Mandarin, as the north-easterners speak fairly standard Mandarin, and the city is a pleasant, clean and modern environment. If you're interested in Dalian, I can give you contact details for some language schools. Just let me know. Cheers, Sam

Beth Evans Hi, everyone. I just joined this network but maybe some of you know me from Twitter. I was wondering if one of you could give me a purchased VPN/proxy recommendation? I'm going crazy without Blogger and Twitter now that Hotspot Shield is down.

Ivan L Petrov: You could also try Skydur. It's not bad and it offers different pricing plans (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year).

Beth Evans: Thanks so much, Eric and Ivan. I went with Skydur because I'm not sure I'll be here for another full year.
