I've been offered a wonderful job that is 100% telecommuting. While the benefits of working from home are undeniably awesome, this social butterfly is feeling a little wary about the prospect of being isolated - especially because I have been a stay-at-home mom, moving around the country with my spouse's job for the past 20 months and have really been looking forward to getting OUT and back into the workforce. Any tips for staying connected with others while telecommuting exclusively?

Professional development is scant among a large segment of people in the US, and as a long time telecommuter, I can say your sense of going stir-crazy from home is only part of the picture. Telecommuting is great in that it allows you to make more of your own schedule - and so go to events and other things during the day. But you need peers around you, even virtually so long as the contact is the same as being in an office.
