Edward Antrobus As I've gotten older, I've started to suffer from poor circulation in my feet. Three layers of socks (liner, cotton, wool) inside my steel-toe boots seems to be fine down to about 40 degreees, but below that I've been suffering from cold feet. Does anyone with cold weather experience have any suggestions? Work keeps me outdoors for 10-12 hours per day.

Taking some extra daily iron or SlowFE might help--it definitely warmed me up in a matter of days! Other than that, a friend of mine who worked outside in winter got neoprene battery-powered socks. Definitely keeps the toes toasty!

My hermatocrit is tested on average twice per week when I donate plasma and it is consistently just a little bit higher then we would like it to be (more red blood cells means less plasma and longer donation). I average right around 50%

Edward Antrobus Anyone know how to get out of the Denver OPT? According to the tax guide(http://www.denvergov.org/Portals/571/documents/TaxGuide/Occupational%20P...), I shouldn't be charged it, since my job-site is actually in Windsor.

Edward Antrobus I'm trying to figure out the pricing structure for by ebook formatting business. Which do you think is best? 1)$25 per book plus a per page fee for manuscripts over 50 pages. That fee would be $.50 for pages 51-100 and $.25 for pages 101+. 2)$20/50 pages. 3)$5 per book plus a per page fee of $.50 for first 100 pages and $.25 for pages 100+ If an author had more than one book to convert, they would pay the per book fee (for options 1 & 3) and the page fee would be for everything.

Edward Antrobus: Okay, the flat rate is going to have to have limits. I was just contacted by someone with a file over 500 pages long!

TOP IDEA: Edward Antrobus "...land consumption occurred at more than twice the rate of population growth. More than a quarter of all the land conversion from rural to urban and suburban uses since European settlement occurred between 1982 and 1997 — a period of only 15 years." - EPA I also read somewhere that the percentage of people living in cities is greater than in rural areas for the first time in history. What can be done to stop or slow down this destructive trend?

In 2009, the US banned Mexican-licensed truck drivers from driving on US roads. In retaliation, Mexico placed tariffs on a rotating list of 90 exports.
Also, while the US has a trade deficit with China, Germany has a trade deficit with the US.

However, in the current environment, being manufacturing has essentially disappeared from the US and it is key to national strength, an externality force is required to bring back equality in this sector such as the "displaced worker tax" on imports from China. Yes, Newton's law of motion would come into play (Every action has an opposite and equal reaction), but I think the economic incentive to the US people, local and national government of having manufacturing stronger in the US would be a net gain compared to any reprocussion we would experience. And, jobs would return to the US as well as US rural areas. So it comes down to what are we willing to give up in order to obtain what we want. Being a service orientated country is showing to not be successful from a sustainability perspecive of our national interests.

Edward Antrobus How do you cope with a a project when it's in a phase that's out of your hands? I've been working on a cookbook and, while it's been off-and-on, I'm definitely in GO mode right now. The problem is that it's currently out for testing, so there is nothing I CAN do right now.

Edward Antrobus Is it acceptable to apply for two positions at the same company at the same time? There are two similar positions with a company I'm interested in. One is just a little more senior than the other (and a pay-grade higher). More interested in the higher position, but it may be more of a stretch and probably more applicants. Don't want to limit myself to the lower position if I can get the higher, but I don't want to miss out on the lower position if I don't get the higher one.

Each position has a different hiring manager, and ultimately someone has to make a decision as to whether they want to go with you or with someone else. In my situation, they felt I was a better fit with another area of the company and gave me a really good recommendation (which led me to the position I currently have). It can be done....the only people that make things awkward are us. :)

Be upbeat and honest and sell yourself. You may get one or both of the interviews but at least they both know what your are doing.

Generally however, it is better to submit one resume and say you'd also be interested in other suitable opportunities. A good resume from a qualified candidate with the right skills and work history never goes unnoticed. Best of luck to you.

TOP IDEA: Edward Antrobus The Rocky Mountain Networking group doesn't seem to get much action. My theory is that it's because it's too broad. The Rockies cover over 3000 miles! There's already a Boulder and a Denver group, so why not a Fort Collins group?
