It's taking place at the Harvard Coop (1400 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA). I'll be there in my birthday attire(not to be confused with my birthday suit). Look for the bow tie. www.100StartUp.Com

Ryan Paugh Even though I'm currently living in Madison, WI I'd really love to move back to the East Coast soon to be near more friends and family. I've sold my girlfriend on the idea of coming with me. Her first pick is somewhere in North Carolina. My first pick is somewhere in/around Boston, MA. She thinks Boston is too cold + doesn't have enough of an artsy scene. I guess I'm not really sure. I figured I'd leave it up to the experts. Any thoughts guys?

Going to a networking event and not feeling like a hemophiliac at a vampire convention. As a technical professional, an introvert, and an adult diagnosed Asperger, relating to people is tough enough as it is, let alone at an event where there are hordes of people. Probably why I relate better to software and cats. :)

I'm an extrovert or so I thought until I went to this 3 day summit last year and was totally ready to be away from people. I found having an anchor in someone I knew that I could take a timeout with helped tons. I also reached out to many of the folks at the event before the actual event (used twitter hashtag and facebook) so help make the transition a bit easier.

Mike Ambassador Bruny To all my Boston and near by folks; have you ever been to the MegaTweetUp put on by BostonTweetUp? I went last year and will be helping out this year. If you are in the area on Jan. 24th (next Tuesday), it's an awesome place to network and see how social and new media is being leveraged to help raise money for charity and connect cool people. Look for me; the Black guy wearing the bowtie. Here's the eventbrite link: http://bit.ly/MegaTweetUp3

Ryan Paugh Hey guys -- I'm heading to Cape Cod on Saturday but not before I have a quick lunch in Boston to show my girlfriend around the city. I'd eventually love to live in Boston someday and I want to convince her to come with me. If I only have a 2-hour window to show her around what would you recommend that I do?

I ended up not having a ton of time in Boston so we went to Quincy Market and hit up the Oyster House for dinner. It ended up being great because there was a lot of different things going on and my girlfriend loved it.

I'm definitely going to try to come back out to Boston soon to visit some friends and get my girlfriend acquainted with the softer side of Boston. Quincy Market wouldn't be one of our normal hangouts if I lived out there.

Any ideas?

TOP IDEA: Mike Ambassador Bruny Part of my leadership program involves reading books. The last book we read was "Tribes" by Seth Godin. I really like what this guy has to say and have been inspired to lead a Seth Godin Book Club starting Jan. 2011. We will read and discuss one of his books a month for the duration of the year. I wanted to send the first invitation to my Brazen Family to both join and help shape what it will look like. You in?

Zip car has all sorts of discounts that you can get and it is about $50 per annual fee plus $7-14 per hour for rental. It also depends on what lifestyle you are used to- if you want to live by yourself, then it depends on where you live. Typically 1 BR apartment would go around $1300 or so in a decent area. Obviously if you live downtown, it will be more.
