Diana Luepke I've suddenly become interested in video blogging - both giving it a try and seeing what's out there. Does anyone have some favorite video blogs they can recommend that focus on ideas? Any topic really, as long as it's about presenting concepts, exploring new ideas or making a persuasive case for something. (Basically I'm not interested in vlogs that are people talking about their daily lives and personal info.)

Mehul Kar Is there a WP plugin that will grab a random post and tweet it out with with my favorite url shortener at random times of the day? I'd like to do some shameless self promotion a little more.

Then you can upload and activate automatically instead of having to mess around with FTP.

Mehul Kar What's the difference between making a mistake and failure?

66 weeks ago from Gen-Y Professional Bloggers, Brazen Bloggers, Blogging and Blogging Ideas2 more

Jared: A mistake is another step closer to success on your goal while failure is a point where you stop correcting your mistake.

Failures may seem more difficult to overcome or repair, yet they can be the launching pad for an amazing next act.

Mehul Kar In my quest to find the perfect publishing tool for auto-posting Wordpress blogs, I tried a LOT of services. I found dlvr.it and love it. The problem is, I've disabled all other posts, except one. Something is tweeting blog posts and I don't know what. Is there any way to find out? Would appreciate some help on this.

Ryan Paugh Last night I had drinks with a friend who is a financial advisor and I was telling him about how he really should start a blog to market himself. He said that the big firms, like the one he works for, won't let their employees blog at all because of the sensitivity around providing financial advice. This seems crazy to me. Any financial advisors out there in similar situations?

Ryan Paugh We did something really radical today and stopped featuring blog posts on the sidebar of Brazen. Instead, we're featuring trending discussion because all of the conversations you guys have is where the real value is for anybody trying to build their network. What do you think? Are you happy or sad? Anyone want to punch me in the neck? We want to know...

This site is too much like a self-help book on infinite feedback. I want customers for my flooring business in the Denver Metropolitan area! There, see how easy it is to state your business, and go on? So far, I haven't seen one single person in here who doesn't sound like a patient at a phychiatric clinic. For $60,000 a year I'll cut through the nonsense at your company like Genghis Khan raiding villages in China, if you want to hire me. Like what you hear? It's called "clarity", "sense of purpose", and "maturity", all of which seem to be lacking here. Just say what you mean, and mean what you say, that's all I ask.

Nathan Sorrell: Oops, I misspelled "Psychiatric", for a spelling Nazi like me that is a fate worse than death....:(

Ryan Paugh In case any of you are contemplating starting a blog, I read a great introductory post today from a friend of mine, Olga Garcia: http://bit.ly/i9GA71 Most peoples first post is all about them: Why they're starting the blog, what they're going to write about, etc. I love Olga's post because for me the most valuable thing about blogging has been the personal connections. I can't think of a better way to launch a blog than to give shout outs to people who have made an impact on you.

TOP IDEA: Diana Luepke Have you ever found through blogging that you didn't understand or weren't able to express an idea as well as you expected? Did going through the writing process help you understand it better yourself? (I relate my own experience with this in a recent post about my definition of design thinking and how I got there: http://www.dianaluepke.com/what-is-design-thinking/)

Ryan Paugh What are your favorite types of posts to read and comment on when you visit Brazen? I'm not sure if you guys realize this, but it's such a difficult job to filter through our database to find the best of the best. It's all relative + there's so much to go through that I could literally read blog posts 24-7. I like original, opinionated blog posts. I'm not a huge fan of cliche personal development posts. What about you? Help make my job easier :)

Sometimes people get stingy with knowledge and only share some of what they know, and I can usually tell. I want to know what the author knows--and something of their actual experience in the real world using that knowledge.
