Just jointed this site.
I have been out of work for over a year and would like to use the skills I learned in Residential Property Management to transition into something else.
I am a great worker and have great multi-tasking skills having, in the past, worked in Reception, Administration and the Management of 6 different Properties in the Bay Area.
I am looking for full-time permanent work in either the Eastbay or San Francisco.

My fields don't lean themselves to online degrees and I wold not hire someone with an online degree but I understand business degrees from some of these schools do ok.
Of course all the scandal regarding the industry in recent years hasn't made my opinion any better.

I am a graduate with a BSB/A from University of Phoenix and am currently having difficulty finding a job in relation to my degree. I wondered if employers were hiring more people with a degree from a traditional setting. I worked very hard online and invested a lot of time everyday and received a high GPA. I wonder if employers even care about a GPA. Phoenix is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, in comparison to other schools its accredited much the same. If I were to do it over, I would have attended in a traditional setting due to the fact that online was relatively boring and I could have learned more from the experience of a college setting.

Just read an interesting post by a blogger buddy of mine, Kelly Sutton, who says that NYC is a better place than San Francisco for both entry-level professionals and for start-up business. He makes some interesting points. On the entry-level side he talks about NYC being a better social scene for young professionals. On the start-up side he talks about how crowded Silicon Valley is getting and that NYC is less risky. What do you guys think? NYC versus San Fran? Who wins?

How do you find out about networking events? Thanks to this group, I learned about the Mashable MashMeet. I've been browsing through meetup.com and eventbrite.com as well. There is movement to provide space in some of the local SF parks to food carts in order to generate revenue for the city. I hope this is affordable to the vendors.... and
