samtrevino Greetings Austinites! I've lived in Austin since May of 2009 and worked for the government as an engineering specialist in wastewater. I decided to make a career change and am seeking to work for a real estate brokerage in Austin, Texas, preferably one that does both residential and commercial real estate. If anyone can recommend a good broker I'd really appreciate it.

Walter Rego Hey Austinites! I'm wondering if there's anyone else who moved to Austin without a job (as did I and my wife 7 months ago). What is/was your plan for paying the rent, etc. and how have you been doing this so far? I have been working a temp job that is incredibly boring and low paying. On the one hand, I'm happy to have income in this economy but on the other, there has to be something better than this! I hope we all find what we're looking for :) All the best, Walter

There is quite a large community actually. I recommend going and introducing yourself to the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce. There is a woman there who is specifically encharged with the biochem industry here in Austin. She would be a wealth of knowledge to help you.

Visit the Starbucks in the Domain from 9am to noon and your drink is on the company I work for, A+ Federal Credit Union. We are spreading holiday cheer, one cup at a time.
