Hello Casey

As a technical recruiter and internet marketer my main observation would be to:

1. add your photo to your home (landing) page (a direct to camera video would be even better

2. Add a tagline / headline that speaks to my problem as a recruiter or potential hiring manager. Ex: Lynchpin and An Extension of You

Those that are looking for an admin assistant are looking to free up time, organized there life and to be more productive. So speaking to those pain points will make them want to read more. Think --- I need to pull my prospective reader into the site.

3. Your site reads as if your needy. It sounds like your just getting started. Even if that is the case, you still want to position yourself as an authority.

Quick tip: Use the past performance accomplishments or positive reviews from previous employers to establish authority.

I hope this has served you. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me via this thread or via inbox.

TOP IDEA: Casey Brown In response to a question posted about how to stand out in the job market or in general career wise, I started a website kind of similar to a resume posting site but of course more personal and I control what information is shared and can add more things, different versions of resumes, a blog etc. Anyway I'd really appreciate feedback especially on the site itself or on the blog. The site is http://caseydbrown.info

You've come to the right place if you want to expand your current way of thinking and become connected with the purveyors of thought who are the true grease behind today's business wheels. Matthew Clauson I have a friend who was convicted of a felony when they were 19. The crime was armed robbery (with a bb gun- no one was hurt) but feels they cannot get a break from the background checks when applying for a cool job regardless of how determined they are. I told this person I would post this here and see what kind of feedback I could obtain from all you overachievers :P.

Tony Forte Today is Election Tuesday, I hope everyone is carving out some time out to vote, here's a funny and enlightening read about the often serious matter, the article is called "Poll Dancing Lessons". Enjoy. http://www.urbanprofessor.com/2010/11/02/poll-dancing-lessons/ What have been some of your biggest challenges and concerns around getting out to vote?

If I had a busy day planned at work, I got up extra early and went to the polls before work, or made a bee-line to the polls after work. Now, I'm self-employed so I can go whenever it works best for my day. Today was no different.

But I was surprised today. The polls were crowded this morning, early, as more people came to vote than I've seen since California ousted then-Governor Gray Davis and elected Governor Arnold, as we call him, to the post. THAT Election Tuesday posted at least 75% voter turnout, a record. And people waiting in line to cast their ballots were upbeat, jovial, smiling, and patient; another good sign.

But perhaps the funniest story today was the news that an avid and very athletic voter who rode his bike to the polls was hit by a deer en route. Literally, a deer jumped out of the brush as he pedaled by and smacked him, sending him crashing to the ground. His bike was unscathed, he was unhurt, and the deer apparently was just as surprised as he upon the collision. Our community is small, near a major river that serves as a parkway through the city and a protected feeding ground to wildlife, so we have lots of encounters with raccoons, bobcats, wild turkeys, skunks, possums, our noted feral chicken population and deer. But today is the first time I've heard of a deer-bicyclist collision. Added flare to the polling day, let's hope the turnout is good and the right folks are voted into office!

I get that work is naturally a place to meet people, but it just seems like a really bad idea, unless you work for a large organization in different areas. I've seen that work before, but I don't think working in the same department or departments that frequently work together is a good idea. There's so much potential for conflict and problems. And there's always the what if you break up issue? Regardless of how professional you promise to be, that could cause problems. Of course, love might be worth the risk!

Back in high school, I dated 4 different people at the same work place. Made life fun (not) after the break-ups and had to work in the same place.
